Best Buy Canada teamed up with nine communities in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto to help collect and recycle electronic waste as part of the Tech it Away program this year. As a result of this one-day event, the stores collected more than 42,000 pounds of e-waste from local residents, with TV and computer monitors making up the majority of items returned. California-based cloud communications company Twilio and SendGrid, a Colorado-based email deliverability company, have announced the inaugural DOer Express, a bus for entrepreneurs en route to the International Startup Festival in Montreal. The DOer Express, in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Microsoft, will be leaving from New York City on July 11, and will transport 46 early stage startup founders while offering mentoring from top entrepreneurs, members of the startup community and technical advisors, such as Craig Kitterman, Technical Product Manager on the Windows Azure team at Microsoft.
