The first Canadian Connecting Bloggers and Brands Conference will be held in Vancouver on April 30th from 10am – 4pm, bringing bloggers and national brands together face-to-face so they can learn about how they can work together. It is the first of a six-city, cross-Canada 2013 tour. This year, the free conferences will focus on introducing the business of blogging to those new to the digital media world. Sage North America announced today the results of its mobile survey, which recently polled 476 small and midsized businesses in Canada. The Sage SMB Survey on Mobile Devices (PDF) showed that Canadian business owners find the use of mobile technology to have a positive effect on their company’s productivity. Eighty-three per cent of respondents said that mobile technology has had a positive effect on their businesses, while just one per cent found mobile technology has negatively impacted their business. On Friday, March 15, Corus Entertainment Inc. received clearance from the Competition Bureau, with the issuance of the appropriate no action letter, to proceed with the transactions between Corus and Bell. Pursuant to these transactions, Corus will acquire the 50% remaining ownership interest in TELETOON which includes the services TELETOON, Télétoon (French), TELETOON Retro, Télétoon Rétro (French) and Cartoon Network (Canada), as well as the 50% ownership interests in the French-language specialty channels, Historia and Séries+, that Bell will acquire as part of the acquisition of Astral Media Inc.
