Social media management system developer HootSuite has appointed Dee Anna McPherson as Vice President of Marketing. McPherson, a marketer with experience in social media and the freemium business model, will lead HootSuite’s marketing team, driving strategy and international expansion for the rapidly growing company. Most recently, McPherson was Vice President of Marketing at Yammer, one of HootSuite’s App Directory integration partners, where she established Enterprise Social Networking as a new category of business software and helped propel Yammer to a leading market position, 300% annual growth and a $1.2 billion acquisition by Microsoft. DHX Media Ltd. has announced a multi-year merchandising and licensing representation deal with Russian agent Icon Promotions. Icon Promotions will represent DHX Media’s popular kids TV series Animal Mechanicals, Johnny Test and the Richard Scarry collection, which includes Vintage Richard Scarry and Hurray For Huckle, at the Russian Licensing Forum in Moscow March 13-15.
