Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software provider OpenText™  has announced that industry veteran Kevin Cochrane has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, Cochrane will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation of OpenText’s global marketing efforts in the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) market, which is projected to reach $19 billion in the next four years. Secure digital media management company YANGAROO Inc. has announced a multi-year, multi-platform deal to provide The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) with a digital method for determining Emmy® winners beginning with News & Documentary Awards on October 1st of this year followed by others in 2014. Through the company’s YANGAROO Awards digital platform, entries will be submitted, content under consideration will be reviewed, and ultimately, judges will electronically cast their ballots. The economic impact of Canadian Film Centre and its alumni in Ontario is considerable according to a recent study conducted by Nordicity on the economic impacts of CFC’s graduates in the province. CFC, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (MTCS), engaged Nordicity to measure the economic impact of CFC graduates since 2005-06 – the first year of MTCS support. Study of the Economic Impacts of the Canadian Film Centre represents the first time an economic analysis of CFC graduates has been assessed, and provides a baseline for future studies. BlackBerry and Unity Technologies have announced that they are working together to create a Unity deployment add-on product for BlackBerry® 10 smartphones, empowering Unity’s over 1.5 million strong developer community to publish their games on these powerful platforms. The deployment tools will also be available for BlackBerry PlayBook™ tablets when they run the BlackBerry 10 OS. BlackBerry 10 will now be one of the premiere mobile platforms supported by the market-leading Unity engine. TED, the nonprofit known for “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announces today it will celebrate its 30th anniversary by holding its annual North American conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2014, moving from the current Long Beach, California, venue. TEDActive, a parallel event featuring the full conference simulcast, will be held in nearby Whistler, the renowned mountain resort, moving from Palm Springs, California.
